Boracay Island is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines. It is located about 315 kilometers (200 miles) south of Manila and 2 km off the northwestern tip of Panay island in the western Visayas region of the Philippines. The island consists of the barangays of Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak (3 of 17 barangays from which the town Malay) and is under the administrative control of the Philippine Tourism Authority in coordination with the provincial government of Aklan.
Boracay’s two primary tourism beaches, white beach and Bulabog Beach, are located on opposite sides of the narrow central island area. White Beach faces west and Bulabog Beach faces eastwards. The island also has several other beaches.
White Beach is the main tourist beach. It is a bit more than four kilometers long and is lined with resorts, hotels, lodging houses, restaurants and other tourism-related companies. In the central part, about two kilometers, there is a footpath known as the path on the beach separates the beach from the premises along. North and south of the path on the beach, beach front companies do literally on the beach. Several roads and paths connect the path on the beach with Boracay
